Points to Consider

Learn it- Live it The Recording Workshop provides excellent training facilities. Our six studios are smartly equipped with the newest gear most likely to be used by students after graduation. And our students also enjoy experience on some analog classics that have earned legacy status. A 6-station Pro Tools lab is another important feature of our learning complex.

Our teaching staff is dedicated to making education at the Recording Workshop unsurpassed. This talented group demonstrates superior engineering skills, clear communication abilities and a sincere concern for the student.

Our programs start from square one, no previous is experience required. Yet even for those students with some background, our training is challenging and beneficial. The Recording Workshop is a very efficient way to fill in gaps for the professional who is self-taught.

We excel at maximizing the amount of hands-on training we provide each student. In less than two months, Recording Workshop students get more practical studio experience than students attending some other schools with programs that are much longer and much more expensive.

The training is intensive, but classes are taught in a relaxed and friendly manner. In our studios, students work in small teams of 3 or 6, allowing for exceptional personal attention.

College Credit is available for Recording Workshop training. For those students working towards a degree in music or communications, the Recording Workshop is an excellent studio supplement to classroom education. Such an arrangement is formally structured between the Recording Workshop and the Capital University Conservatory of Music. Participating students can earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music/Commercial Music Degree with the Recording Workshop supplying up to 12 semester hours of credit. Students of other degree institutions can have these credit hours transferred in conjunction with Capital University.

Convenient, low-cost housing is available on campus, within a short walk of all classes. Having a car is helpful but not necessary.

Each Recording Workshop session creates its own incredible culture. Our students have come from every US state and more than 30 different countries. This diversity enriches the musical exposure and perspective of all students.

No-risk registration procedures - the Recording Workshop maintains a 100% tuition refund policy up to the start of classes for all of its programs. Registrations for optional programs are not taken until students have had the chance to sample the high quality of our training methods.
